About DIG

Pink and Yellow Tall Bearded Iris in Spring

Deborahโ€™s Iris Garden (DIG) is a husband-and-wife-run garden located in Opelika, Alabama, where we specialize in hard to find and unique iris colors. Our main focus is on Tall Bearded Iris and Siberian Iris in hand picked varieties. We started growing irises in our personal garden in 2006 as a personal passion and it has grown into a long-term family effort to cultivate and share exceptional iris varieties with gardeners and collectors just like you.

We grow a carefully selected mix of Tall Bearded and Siberian irises in a wide range of colorsโ€”including deep reds, purples, white, lavenders, and many more combinations. With over 65 varieties in our collection, youโ€™ll find classics like Titanโ€™s Glory (1981), the re-blooming Berniceโ€™s Legacy (2000), and the strikingly dark, Black Flowered, a Siberian Iris.

Every iris we grow has meticulous records to ensure the variety you order is exactly what you receive. We include the hybridizer’s name and the year the variety was first introduced, because we believe that knowing the story behind each bloom matters just as much as its beauty. We also strive to have the highest quality flower photography you will find from any store.

Growing Iris varieties also takes a lot of time. As our iris bulbs mature, weโ€™ll begin offering them for saleโ€”so follow along to stay updated on availability and discover new additions to the DIG collection. Whether you’re starting a garden or adding something special to an existing one, weโ€™re excited to help you grow something truly memorable in your own garden.

Iris Photography

A note on our Iris photos. Have you noticed the images on our site? We take all our own flower photography and use a wide variety of images to show the beauty of the bulb in bloom and the accuracy of the colors we carry. They are not representations of what we sell, they are the very bulbs we sell and the images are the very flowers from our garden. If you don’t see an image on a listing yet, we may be waiting for just the right bloom to appear to add to the Iris photography collection.
